Old Hollywood Homages to Modern Glamour: Standout Styles at the 2025 Golden Globes

The Golden Globes gave us some truly iconic fashion moments and, whilst it is impossible to list every single one that wowed us this year, here is a list of ten looks that caught our attention.


  1. Demi Moore

Winning best actress for her role in The Substance, Demi Moore turned heads in a stunning dress by Armani Privé, embellished with Swarovski crystals. The custom-made gown perfectly hugged her physique, finished with a fishtail hem which complimented the long mermaid-esque curls in her hair.


  1. Margaret Qualley

Moore's costar Margaret Qualley turned heads in her classic and classy Chanel dress, including over 7.000 embroidered elements which took over 400 hours to make. Qualley stated that her and her stylist, Patricia Villirillo 'worked with Chanel to create this look and were really inspired by Old Hollywood glamour and glitter, and I'm so in love with it.' She went on to share 'Chanel has always been such a champion of cinema, and so, to me, it just feels right to be wearing Chanel for the Golden Globes'. Her unique headband of singulière head jewels is also a standout piece with 18 karats of diamonds, courtesy of Chanel High Jewelry.


  1. Colman Domingo

Nominated for Best Actor in a Feature Film for his starring role in Sing Sing, Colman Domingo demanded attention in a custom black mohair wool tuxedo with a polka-dotted silk shirt, finished with a thick black-and-white checked ribbon tie. Partnering with Valentino's creative director Alessandro Michele, Domingo stated 'When we began sketches for the look I wanted more traditional tailoring, but slightly playful. Slightly maximalist.' When asked about the story of his outfit he said 'There's something about the polka dots for me that made me feel like I am at the center of this three-ring circus.' The look is finished with gorgeous jewellery provided by Boucheron, including a chunky pinky ring in white gold, a bold leopard-shaped earring, and a peacock plume brooch.


  1. Ayo Edebiri

Following her win for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series- Musical or Comedy last year, Ayo Edebiri returned to the Golden Globes for another nomination in the same category. Edebiri, styled by Danielle Goldberg, paid tribute to Julia Roberts's iconic 1990 Golden Globes look in an oversized grey Loewe suit with a 14 karat gold-dipped tie, resembling a feather. The gathered asymmetric waist added shape to her trousers creating a more feminine detailing whilst preserving an overall androgynous look.


  1. Sebastian Stan

Sebastian Stan left his comfort zone in custom Prada, styling a black mohair coat with white piping detail, a black knit wool sweater, and poplin shirt. Stan stated 'It's really fun and different, and it's something I've never really worn before'. Stan commented that the look is an homage to a different era in Hollywood, stating 'You get romantic sometimes when you see clips in black and white of the Oscars and how people dressed up. So I think I'm more old school like that in my mindset rather than, hey, let me take a crazy swing on this red carpet'. He credits his stylist, Michael Fisher, for this new direction in his look.


  1. Zendaya

Of course, we couldn't forget about Zendaya, wearing a custom burnt-orange Louis Vuitton ball gown on the red carpet before changing into a chic cream and gold bead-embellished gown during the event. Nominated for her Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture- Musical or Comedy for Challengers, Zendaya stunned in her figure-hugging but still larger-than-life gown, with a matching pair of pointed-toe pumps. She accessorised with a dazzling choker necklace, flashing a diamond ring on her left ring finger, sparking rumours of an engagement with her boyfriend, Tom Holland, although nothing has been confirmed yet.


  1. Zoe Saldaña

    First time winner Zoe Saldaña adorned a shimmering brown strapless dress, courtesy of Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello, hugging her figure with an hourglass silhouette. Accessorising with Cartier diamonds, Saldaña elegantly draped a warm brown cloak around her arms which matched her platform sandals. She was amongst the first to arrive at the Golden Globes, winning Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for Emilia Pérez.


    8. Cynthia Erivo

    Cynthia Erivo looked stunning in a black Louis Vuitton gown emblazoned with a metallic silver print. The look delivers a unique silhouette with its plunging neckline and peplum attachment. To accessorise, she kept her iconic piercings and lengthy nails. Nominated for her performance as Elphaba in the highly popular movie adaptation of Wicked, Erivo conveyed the unique and daring aspects of her character through her red carpet look.


    9. Emma D'Arcy

    Emma D'Arcy represented House of the Dragon at the awards, opting for a custom McQueen look which merged elements from their Spring 2025 collection. The look consists of an oversized collared shirt, paired with a wing-tip collar and tuxedo bib. They accessorised with jewellery by Boucheron and a white handkerchief which serves as a nod to the 1994 film Interview With the Vampire, adding a cinematic reference to the look.


    10. Adam Brody

    To finish our list, Adam Brody was certainly amongst the best-dressed men at the event in his dark green double-breasted tuxedo from Prada, paired with a silk bowtie and white poplin shirt. Brody was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy for his role in Nobody Wants This, starring alongside Kristen Bell.
